It’s been a lot of fun and also leaving me heavy with feelings looking back at all the work we did with Techstur.com. I still own the URL and the email still works, even though it is pretty much all spam, I mean all spam. I never had the heart to let the domain go, so these days it just leads to my little jesseboehm.com website, which really needs to be updated. At least the copyright year could be correct.

I posted about Web Interface 5.4 yesterday and there was a lot of great feedback. I appreciate the comments and reactions. It means a lot to me.

I was digging through my archives and though I know we had demos for StoreFront even for the first release, the earliest I could find was Citrix StoreFront 2.6. We did two demos for SF 2.6 because one just was not enough for the designs I wanted to show off. Working with Venki, we created this first demo, simply called SF1 to us. This was our most tricked-out work to date at the time.

The copyright on the login page shows 2013, but ChatGPT tells me 2.6 wasn’t released until 2014 with XenApp 7.5 and XenDesktop 7.5. Here we fully added our XenAdmin Tab to the interface, which was tied to LDAP/AD Groups to show or hide the tab by group membership.

This demo had our Announcements, Twitter Integration, Company Links, Downloads, Documents, Email (OWA Integration), and Session Info modules. It was totally tricked out.

I loved this design. There was a lot of detail put into it. We were, at the time, creating graphic artwork that I just loved and still do. We wanted to show customers what was possible, which was everything we could think of.

So I present Citrix StoreFront 2.6 or SF1, only going back 12 years this time.

We put a lot of heart into our work. Interface Customization Services was everything to me back then. Making everything bigger and better than the next was my goal. Citrix gave me that opportunity. Their interfaces were the canvas we painted on to express how we felt and our mood. I felt like we were innovating and breaking down new doors with every release of a product.

But ultimately the releases were so frequent it became hard to keep up with, so we did our best to create a new demo for each major release.
